9 Records Fall at Swim Meet of Champions over June 10-13 in Mission Viejo.
Olivia Barker and Amanda Guerrero led the team with most records over the weekend. Olivia set a new personal best and team record in the 15-16 girls 800 meter freestyle with a time of 9:19.37, 5 plus seconds faster than the previous record held by Michelle Yee in 2005 of 9:25.19. Olivia also better three Butterfly records of her own with new record times in 15-16 girls 100 & 200 Fly and the Open 200 Butterfly with the times of 1:02.14 for the 100 Meters, and 2:16.58 in the 200 meters Butterfly.
Amanda Guerrero broke three team records in the 100 Backstroke, 200 Breaststroke and 200 Individual Medley for 17-18 girls. The new 17-18 girls 100 backstroke record of 1:11.21 bettered the old record held by Sarena Hobson with a time of 1:12.32 in 2007. The new 17-18 girls 200 Breaststroke record time is 2:45.16 breaking the old record held by Natalie Lipkowitz with a time of 2:47.38 in 2009. Also, breaking a new record for the 17-18 girls 200 Individual Medley with a new time of 2:30.50 and the old record was held by Shannon Colavito with a time of 2:31.09 in 2006.
Other record breakers include Cody Miller with a new 100 meter freestyle record in the 17-18 boys with a time of 54.75. Lindsey Englestead set a new team record in the 15-16 girls breaststroke with a time of 2:43.14 breaking Dana Benedict’s old record of 2:46.36 in 2003!
