Five Southern California Swimming athletes plus their personal coaches are attending the National Diversity Select Camp this weekend (May 3-6) at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. The annual camp is limited to 18 females and 18 males from under represented ethnic populations in USA Swimming. In addition to the campers' program, personal coaches attend education sessions plus working with the athletes.
Joy Lim (CCY) is serving as one of the assistant coaches at the camp which is being led by Leah Stancil from the University of Florida. Participating campers from Southern California include Anna Quinn (CSSC), Tamara Santoyo (CANY), Javier Lopez (ROSE), Isiah Magsino (SAND) and Jason Rodriguez (NOVA). Personal coaches attending are Lauren Hancock (CSSC), Mike Bechtholdt (CANY), Jeff Klotz (ROSE), Dwight Gravley (SAND) and Adam Crossen (NOVA).
